About this program

University of Connecticut Archives & Special Collections awards competitive research travel grants of up to $1,500 to support short on-site visits for scholars and researchers to consult its archival holdings, with priority given to projects demonstrating a specific need for materials in ASC’s collections. Applicants at any career stage must submit a project description (maximum two pages), a preliminary list of collections to be consulted, and a resume or CV; selections are made by the Head of Archives & Special Collections and relevant archivists. Grant recipients must be in residence for at least three full research days (or equivalent half-days), agree to report on the research’s value, and will receive payment after completing the fellowship (allowing at least eight weeks for processing); applications are reviewed annually with a January 30 deadline for visits scheduled March–February.
