Undergraduate Essay Prize

About this program

The Committee on Psychoanalysis and the Academy of the American Psychoanalytic Association awards a $500 prize for an outstanding undergraduate essay applying psychoanalytic ideas to a focused question in any academic discipline. Essays must be 12–20 pages, unpublished and not under consideration for publication, and written within one year of submission for an undergraduate course or under instructor supervision at a U.S. college or university. Instructors must submit one essay by September 30, accompanied by a cover letter with the course, instructor, and student’s contact information.
