About this program
The U.S.–India Science & Technology Endowment Fund, established by the U.S. Department of State and India’s Department of Science & Technology and administered by IUSSTF, supports joint applied R&D and commercialization of technologies with societal impact. Grants of up to INR 2.50 crore (approximately $400,000) support initiatives in areas such as affordable health technologies, food and nutrition, and digital solutions that empower underserved communities. Applications must include at least one U.S. and one Indian partner, including a small entrepreneurial entity responsible for bringing the technology to market. Proposals must present applied R&D, a viable business plan and proof of commercial concept, clearly defined partner and intellectual-property arrangements, and credible potential for market entry within two to three years.
