Apellis Pharmaceuticals is offering the US Retina Fellow Research Grant of up to $50,000 to support fellow-led research that advances diagnosis, treatment, and mechanistic understanding of geographic atrophy (GA) secondary to AMD. Priority topics include imaging and diagnostic strategies, real-world and dosing insights on pegcetacoplan (including underrepresented phenotypes), visual function testing, GA–neovascularization relationships, and biomarkers for progression or treatment response. Applicants must be enrolled in a U.S.-based vitreoretinal or medical retina fellowship and submit proof of enrollment, a research plan, and CVs for the applicant and mentor via the online portal by August 28, 2026. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis with finalists evaluated in a de-identified fashion by a steering committee.
