USC Book Prize in Literary and Cultural Studies

About this program

The Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies, sponsored by the University of Southern California’s Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures, awards this annual prize and cash award for an outstanding monograph in literary and cultural studies concerning Russia, Eastern Europe, or Eurasia. Eligible works may address literature, visual arts, cinema, music, or dance and must have been published in the United States in English during the previous calendar year. Authors of any nationality may be nominated by themselves or their publisher, but works must be scholarly monographs with no more than two authors; textbooks, edited collections, translations, reference works, bibliographies, and self-published books are excluded. Nominations are due April 15, with book copies required by May 15, and each book may be nominated for no more than two ASEEES prizes.
