Utah Humanities Community Research Fellowships (Albert J. Colton & Delmont R. Oswald Fellowships)

About this program

Utah Humanities offers the Albert J. Colton (national/international) and Delmont R. Oswald (Utah-focused) Research Fellowships to Utah-based researchers and storytellers for humanities projects that document and share community stories, providing up to $3,500 ($3,000 stipend plus up to $500 for travel/expenses). Projects must work collaboratively with communities (not extractively) using journalism, creative nonfiction, audio/video or other media to produce at least 3–5 in-depth stories with a clear outreach plan, evaluation method, and evidence of public impact. Applicants must be Utah residents actively involved in humanities teaching, research, writing, or community leadership (graduate students eligible), and submit a detailed project description, CV (3 pages max), and a letter of recommendation; fellows must present an actively engaging public program in at least two Utah venues (one rural).
