VESS Resident Research Award – 2026

About this program

The Vascular & Endovascular Surgery Society (VESS) is offering one $12,500 Resident Research Award to support basic/translational science, educational, clinical, or health outcomes research conducted by vascular surgery residents during protected academic development time. Eligible applicants must be residents in accredited general or integrated vascular surgery residency programs with a dedicated VESS Active Member serving as research mentor, and cannot be receiving similar resident grants from other surgical societies. Applications require an 11-page submission including an introductory letter with academic development plan, mentor letter of support, NIH biosketches, research proposal, and budget, all due by October 1, 2026. Awardees must complete research within 12 months, submit a summary report within 15 months, and present findings at the VESS Annual Winter Meeting.
