VESS Resident Research Award – Basic Translational Research (BTR) – 2027

About this program

The Vascular & Endovascular Surgery Society (VESS) offers one $20,000 Resident Research Award for basic and translational research to support residents developing projects during protected academic time and pursuing careers as surgeon-scientists. Projects must be completed within 12 months, with awardees submitting a 15-month report and presenting findings at the subsequent VESS Annual Winter Meeting. Applicants must be residents in an accredited general or integrated vascular surgery program and identify an active VESS member as mentor, sponsor, or collaborative investigator. Applications must include an academic development plan, mentor support letter, NIH-format biosketches, and a proposal of no more than seven pages; applicants cannot hold similar resident grants, and funds are restricted to direct research costs, with travel limited to $1,000.
