VESS/BSCI Early Career Investigator Award – 2026

The Vascular & Endovascular Surgery Society (VESS) is offering one $22,500 Early Career Investigator Award to support basic/translational science, educational, clinical, or health outcomes research conducted by new vascular surgical investigators, with the goal of helping early career researchers initiate projects that lead to extramural funding. Eligible applicants must be early career vascular surgery faculty within five years of completing surgical training, or qualifying senior trainees (2nd-year fellows or 5th-year residents) with proof of future academic appointment, and must be VESS members in good standing. Applications require a comprehensive submission package including an introductory letter, division chief letter of support, NIH biosketches, a 7-page proposal, and budget justification, all conforming to current NIH format standards. Research must be completed within 12 months of funding, with a summary report and presentation required at the VESS Annual Winter Meeting within 15 months.
