About this program
The Violin Society of America offers two annual rounds of grants for projects advancing string instrument making and restoration through research, documentation, scholarship, publications, education, or technical inquiry. Funding is limited and may cover only part of a project’s budget; funded results are expected to be shared with the VSA community. Applicants must be VSA members in good standing, and most principal investigators must also hold VSA membership. Applicants begin with a letter of inquiry due March 1 or September 1, followed by an invitation-only full application.
