W. T. and Idalia Reid Prize

About this program

The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) offers the annual W. T. and Idalia Reid Prize to recognize an individual’s significant research or other contributions in the broadly defined areas of differential equations and control theory. The award includes a $10,000 prize, engraved medal, plenary lecture invitation, and reimbursement for reasonable lecture-related travel expenses. Any member of the scientific community who meets the prize criteria may be nominated for a single notable achievement or a body of work. Nominations, due October 15, 2026, must include a nominator’s recommendation letter, the candidate’s CV, and two or three expert letters of support.
