Warren Huff Clay Science Pathway Award

About this program

The Clay Minerals Society offers the Warren Huff Clay Science Pathway Award to support early-career researchers developing careers in clay science and encourage participation in CMS activities and the annual meeting. Award funds support presenting clay-related research or organizing/chairing a scientific session, workshop, or networking event at the annual meeting. Applicants must be early-career researchers—typically within five years of their latest graduate degree, excluding career breaks—and conduct research on a clay science topic; applicants may apply directly without a nominator. Applications require a five-minute video or narrated presentation and CV, with submissions due November 6, 2026; recipients may receive the award only once, with up to two reapplications permitted within five years of the first application.
