Washington State Wine Commission Research Grant Program: Intermediate Grants

About this program

The Washington State Wine Commission, together with the statewide Washington State Grape and Wine Research Program administered by WSU, funds competitive viticulture and enology research in Washington through short-term one-year demonstration grants and intermediate awards of one to four years. Short-term grants emphasize student involvement and proof-of-concept projects, while intermediate grants support larger multi-year research programs. All new applications require an online preproposal submitted via the Washington Wine Research Grant Portal by October 30, 2026; intermediate preproposals are by invitation for full proposals (due January 29, 2027), and all submissions and reports must follow the program templates available in the portal.
