William and Christine Hartmann Prize in Auditory Neuroscience

The Acoustical Society of America offers the William and Christine Hartmann Prize in Auditory Neuroscience to recognize and encourage research that links auditory physiology with auditory perception or behavior in humans or other animals, including anatomy/physiology, electrophysiology and imaging, mathematical/computer modeling, and applied work (e.g., bioacoustics, speech, prostheses, music). The 2027 prize carries a medal, certificate, a $6,000 stipend, and limited travel/registration support up to $1,500, with presentation of the Prize Lecture at the Spring 2027 meeting. The Prize is awarded without regard to age and nominees need not be ASA members; nominations must be emailed to asa@acousticalsociety.org and include a nominating letter, a succinct CV (preferably ≤5 pages), abstracts of five peer-reviewed publications that best demonstrate the nominee’s achievements, and contact information for two individuals asked to submit signed supporting letters on letterhead. Nominations are due 19 October 2026, the recipient will be notified by 31 December 2026, and the awardee must submit and present the Auditory Neuroscience Prize Lecture and attend the Spring 2027 Plenary to accept the award.
