Youth Service Capacity-Building Grants

About this program

The William T. Grant Foundation’s Youth Service Capacity-Building Grants support organizational infrastructure improvements for small nonprofit organizations serving youth ages 5–25 in New York City’s five boroughs. Awards provide $60,000 over three years ($30,000, $20,000, and $10,000 annually), along with technical assistance, for needs such as financial management, fundraising, leadership, evaluation systems, and strategic planning. Eligible applicants must be NYC-based community nonprofits with direct youth contact, serve primarily youth ages 5–25, have a prior-year operating budget of $250,000–$1 million, and meet at least one criterion related to reducing inequality in youth outcomes. Applicants must hold or operate under a 501(c)(3), provide audited or certified financial statements, and submit a plan addressing an assessed capacity-building need; the deadline is September 17, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. EST.
