About this program

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) offers the Exobiology: Evolution of Advanced Life fellowship to support research on the biological and environmental factors driving the origin of eukaryotes, multicellularity, and complex life on Earth and beyond. This includes studies of endosymbiosis, developmental programs, and other essential biological processes in the context of advanced life's evolution.

Applicants must hold a Doctoral Degree and be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents, Foreign Nationals eligible for a J-1 visa, or applicants for LPR, asylees, or refugees with valid documentation. Selected fellows are expected to attend NASA-funded conferences, such as AbGradCon or AbSciCon, as part of the program.
