About a score years ago I was almost finished with a BS in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics and applied for a position at Hudson Valley Community College for what I thought was PT grants position. During the interview I was offered a FT position overseeing the accounting for grants which I glad accepted as I was a poor college student. I expected to only work there a short time but it stretched into a 20+ year tenure in varying positions of increasing responsibility.

After our Bursar and main Grant Administrator left to take roles at RPI they let me know that a position for a Director Research Finance position had opened up. I applied, interviewed, was offered and accepted the position. Now I am jumping feet first into the exciting world of grant finance at a major research university.
