2023-2028 OSCIA Grants

About this program

The Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA), with partial funding from OMAFRA under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership, offers 2023–2028 grants to OSCIA local and regional associations to support knowledge transfer (communication/outreach) and on‑farm applied research. Three streams are available: Collaborative Activities Grants (100% cost‑share up to $2,500 per county/district/region annually) for events, demonstrations and in‑field trials; Communication & Outreach Grants ($6,000 per region per year) to fund Regional Communication Coordinator activities; and multi‑year Grassroots Research Grants for large three‑year provincial projects (specific funding levels detailed in OSCIA guidelines). Applicants must be OSCIA local or regional associations (communication funding administered via RCCs), align projects with OSCIA Grant Guidelines and research priorities, obtain provincial OSCIA pre‑approval before incurring costs, and complete projects by April 1, 2023–February 15, 2028. Claims require proof of payment, reporting and seven‑year records retention; applications are generally first‑come, first‑served and certain costs (e.g., food/refreshments, donations, routine association business, costs incurred prior to approval) are ineligible.
