2026 Constantinides Memorial Translation Prize

About this program

The Modern Greek Studies Association offers the $1,000 Elizabeth Constantinides Memorial Translation Prize for a new English translation of literary work originally published in Modern Greek, including poetry, prose, drama, or excerpts. Eligible applicants include scholars, creative writers, students, and others proficient in Greek and English; MGSA membership is not required. Submissions must be 15–30 pages and include the English translation, Greek source text, cover letter, and an anonymized one-page translator’s statement, with only one submission permitted per translator. The deadline is April 1, 2028, and entries undergo blind review.
