About this program
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection offers Section 901 Municipal Waste Planning Grants to support county municipal waste management plans, related research and analyses, environmental mediation, and feasibility studies or development of waste processing, disposal, or composting facilities. Grants may cover up to 80% of approved project costs, with a maximum of $75,000 per county per calendar year, and applications are accepted year-round. Eligible applicants are Pennsylvania counties, which must consult their DEP Regional Planning and Recycling Coordinator before applying and provide at least 20% matching funds.
