About this program
The Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) awards the annual Distinguished Service Award to one individual for extraordinary service to the AI community—examples include society or editorial service, conference organization, representation in organizations like CRA/ACM/IEEE, or influential government program leadership. The recipient receives a $1,000 prize; nominations are due September 2026 and will be reviewed by the AAAI Awards Committee with final approval by the AAAI President. Nominees must be current AAAI members, and any regular AAAI member may submit a nomination; contact awards@aaai.org for details and the forthcoming nomination form.
