ACLS HBCU Faculty Fellowships and Grants

About this program

The American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) offers the HBCU Faculty Fellowship and Grant Program to support humanities and social sciences faculty at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) with funding for research projects. The program provides grants of up to $10,000 for project development and fellowships of up to $50,000 for sustained research engagement, with additional $2,500 institutional grants for awardees' home institutions. Eligibility is limited to faculty at HBCUs, who must choose between applying for a grant or fellowship, not both, for their proposed project. The deadline for applications is November 6, 2024.
