The Naval Postgraduate School, through the National Academies of Science, Engineering, & Medicine, offers a $67,000 fellowship for research in acoustics and oceanography, focusing on data-driven signal processing approaches to estimate environmental parameters using uncontrolled broadband surface vessel noise. The funding supports near-term research on noise information content, oceanographic processes, and sensor configurations, as well as long-term development of data-assimilation models, including Bayesian methods. Eligibility is open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and non-U.S. citizens at the postdoctoral and senior levels, with stipends adjusted based on years of experience post-PhD.
