ADInstruments Macknight Innovative Educator Award

About this program

The American Physiological Society, with strategic partner ADInstruments, offers the ADInstruments Macknight Innovative Educator Award to early- to mid‑career APS members who demonstrate exceptional potential in using innovative teaching techniques and technology to engage undergraduate or graduate students in physiology education. The award provides a $1,500 honorarium, an award plaque, reimbursement of the American Physiology Summit early registration fee, and a one‑year subscription to ADI LabChart Lightning; recipients must attend the Summit and secure any additional travel support. Eligible applicants must have at least two consecutive years of APS membership, a first faculty appointment within the last 15 years, hold a full‑time teaching position (assistant/associate professor, lecturer, instructor, or similar), and be actively engaged in physiology instruction with demonstrated innovative use of technology. Application requires a curriculum vitae, a two‑page description of a laboratory‑based instructional activity, and a department chair/administrator letter addressing curriculum integration, dissemination, assessment, intended PowerLab use, student reach (including underserved populations) and institutional support; final selection is made by the Center for Physiology Education Advisory Board and applications are accepted online only.
