A.F. Skutch Medal for Excellence in Neotropical Ornithology

About this program

The Association of Field Ornithologists (AFO) offers the A.F. Skutch Medal to recognize career accomplishments and excellence in Neotropical ornithology, particularly life-history research. The award includes a silver medal and a US$1,000 honorarium, with consideration also given to mentoring—especially of Latin American students—and public outreach. Nominations may be submitted by email or letter by July 31 for presentation at the subsequent annual meeting. Submissions should explain the candidate’s contributions and include a justification, biographical information, and optional publications, support letters, or other relevant materials.
