African Nature-Based Tourism Collaborative Platform (COVID-19 response)

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF), in partnership with the Global Environment Facility (GEF), is offering a $1,903,000 grant to develop an African Nature-Based Tourism Collaborative Platform. This initiative aims to connect funders with marginalized rural communities and small to medium nature-based tourism enterprises (SMEs) in 11 African countries severely impacted by COVID-19. Eligible applicants include communities and SMEs in Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, with a focus on those most affected by the pandemic. The project seeks to mobilize at least $15 million in emergency relief and resilience-building efforts through data collection, funding proposal development, and matchmaking between funders and beneficiaries.
