AGA Gemological Research Grant

About this program

The Accredited Gemologists Association (AGA) offers grants of up to $10,000 to support approved scientific research projects in or directly related to gemology worldwide. Applications are open through June 15, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time, with funds supporting research specimens, materials, and equipment. Applicants must demonstrate relevant scientific or gemological qualifications, establish a partnership with a gem research laboratory or scientific institute, and submit a detailed project plan, budget, timeline, publication strategy, three professional references, and proof of English proficiency. Projects must generally be completed within one year, with quarterly progress reports and final results presented to AGA members in English through a presentation and published paper.
