AGA Gemological Research Grant

About this program

The Accredited Gemologists Association (AGA), through its Education Scholarship and Research Grant Committee, offers the AGA Gemological Research Grant to support high-quality scientific research in gemology, providing up to $10,000 for approved projects. Eligible applicants are gemologists and scientists worldwide with a relevant degree and/or extensive experience proposing research directly related to gemology. Required materials include a detailed project plan, timeline, budget, publication plans, proof of qualifications, an acceptance/commitment letter from a collaborating gem research laboratory or scientific institute, three reference letters, and demonstration of English proficiency. The current cycle is open with a deadline of 15 June 2027 (11:59 pm PT); awards are selected based on the significance and rigor of proposed work.
