AIME Robert Lansing Hardy Award

About this program

The American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers (AIME), through TMS and support from the TMS Foundation and Ford Motor Company, offers the Robert Lansing Hardy Award to recognize exceptional promise in a young professional’s career in metallurgy or materials science. The award includes the Hardy Medal, an engraved commemorative plate, and a $500 cash prize. Nominees must be TMS members, demonstrate exceptional promise for a successful career, and be under 35 as of December 31 of the nomination year. Nominations are due annually by April 1 and must include a nomination form, a two-page endorsement statement, two to five testimonials of up to 150 words each, and a résumé or CV of no more than five pages.
