AMS-SIAM Cathleen Synge Morawetz Prize in Applied Mathematics

About this program

The American Mathematical Society (AMS) and Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) jointly award the AMS-SIAM Cathleen Synge Morawetz Prize every three years for outstanding contributions to applied mathematics. The prize includes a $5,000 award and certificate, with the next award presented at the January 2027 Joint Mathematics Meetings and the next nomination call opening February 1, 2029. Candidates must be members of AMS or SIAM in the nomination year and each of the three preceding years. Nominations must include a recommendation letter, candidate CV, and proposed citation of no more than 50 words.
