About this program

The American Theatre Wing, supported by a $1.3M three‑year seed grant from the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation, runs the Andrew Lloyd Webber Initiative to expand nationwide access to theatre education and rebuild pathways into the theatre industry for youth from diverse and underserved backgrounds. The Initiative provides Classroom Resources Grants for equipment and materials to create or enhance in‑school theatre programs, Training Scholarships for afterschool and summer programs, and 4‑Year University Scholarships for tuition support, with additional backing from philanthropic partners. Classroom Resources Grants are available to under‑resourced public schools (2026 cycle open); Training and University Scholarships are awarded to individual students but current cycles are closed—prospective applicants should consult the Initiative application pages for specific eligibility criteria and deadlines.
