Anita Oberholster Award for Extension Excellence

About this program

The American Society for Enology and Viticulture (ASEV) offers the Anita Oberholster Award for Extension Excellence to honor a current extension professional for outstanding contributions in enology or viticulture and for translating novel research into commercially applicable tools; recipients receive a plaque and an unspecified monetary award and are expected to present their programs at the ASEV National Conference. Nominees must be current Professional ASEV members and active extension professionals in viticulture or enology at the time of the award, and previous recipients are ineligible. Most successful nominees have typically developed extension programs for seven or more years; the award recognizes current extension work (not early-career or lifetime achievement) and may not be given every year depending on nominations. Nominations are submitted via ASEV’s nomination form (nominations accepted through August 1).
