Ann Ferren Curriculum Design Award

About this program

The American University Center for Faculty Excellence offers the Ann Ferren Curriculum Design Award, a $2,500 prize (divided among recipients) recognizing collaborative faculty teams that integrate liberal education values into course or curriculum design, with preference for projects that advance AU Core learning outcomes. Eligible applicants are teams of two or more faculty (including adjuncts, term, and tenure-track; full- or part-time) teaching during the current academic year. Applications (opening early spring 2026) are submitted online with a 1–2 page attachment addressing project overview, how it incorporates liberal education and AU Core themes, student learning outcomes and assessments, communication and broader impact, and plans for sustaining or expanding the work.
