Ann Ferren Curriculum Design Award

About this program

American University Center for Faculty Excellence is offering the Ann Ferren Curriculum Design Award—a $2,500 prize (divided among recipients) recognizing collaborative teams that creatively integrate the values of liberal education into course or curriculum design, with preference for projects that advance AU Core Curriculum learning outcomes. Eligible applicants are teams of two or more faculty (including adjunct, term, and tenure-track) teaching full- or part-time during the current academic year. Applications for the 2025–2026 award open in early spring 2026 and require an online form plus a 1–2 page attachment addressing project overview, incorporation of liberal education/AU Core themes, student learning outcomes and alignment, communication and broader impact, and next steps.
