ANZSCDB Image Award — showcase of cell and developmental biology imaging

About this program

The Australia and New Zealand Society for Cell and Developmental Biology (ANZSCDB) offers the ANZSCDB Image Award to recognise outstanding optical or electron microscopy images and live movies that showcase cell and developmental biology; up to two awards may be made each round and winners receive a certificate and reimbursement of up to $250 to attend a meeting, with winning entries used in ANZSCDB promotional materials. Submissions are judged by the ANZSCDB Committee and President on aesthetics, technical difficulty, research relevance and creativity, with the President able to cast a deciding vote or extend awards if needed. Applicants must be financial ANZSCDB members (Australia/New Zealand), may submit a maximum of one image and one movie, and must submit original work captured with an optical or electron microscope (macro photography excluded). Required materials are the image/movie file (TIFF, PDF, .avi, .mp4; recommended image ~3–4 MB, movies ≤100 MB or provide a direct-download link) plus a brief title and ~100-word description of microscope/technique and sample/staining/preparation; applicants grant ANZSCDB rights to reproduce and publicise entries.
