A.P. Black Research Award — Outstanding research contributions to water science and water supply

About this program

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) awards the A.P. Black Research Award to recognize outstanding research contributions to water science and water supply rendered over an appreciable period; the honor is presented as an exquisite sculpture with a personalized inscribed nameplate and is awarded as deserved (no more than once per year). Eligibility is limited to individual AWWA members; organizations, current Water Science & Research Division Trustees, previous recipients, and self-nominations are ineligible. Nominations must be made by AWWA members, sections, committees, or councils and include nominee contact information, year of AWWA membership, summaries of professional experience, service, and prior recognition, a two‑page statement of principal contributions, a complete resume with education and publications, and signed statements from at least two seconders; nominations are valid for three years and should be received by October 1 for full consideration.
