APECS International Mentorship Award

About this program

The Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) offers the International Mentorship Award to recognize and honor outstanding mentors who support early-career researchers in Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine polar science; the award is a recognition rather than a monetary grant. APECS invites nominations from early-career researchers worldwide and from APECS members, National Committees, and Project Groups; in 2024 a single award will be conferred by a committee of early-career scientists and APECS Executive Committee members. Nominees must be mentors actively working with the early-career polar scientific community, and nominators should submit individuals who have demonstrably provided exceptional mentorship to them, their project group, or committee.
