About this program
The University of Kentucky Center for Clinical and Translational Science (UK CCTS), as a founding member of the Appalachian Translational Research Network (ATRN), offers Appalachian Translational Research Network Pilot Awards to fund pilot projects that build sustainable community–academic partnerships and advance translational research addressing health needs in the Appalachian region. These awards support early-stage, collaborative projects designed to generate preliminary data and strengthen capacity for larger, multi-site studies. Eligible applicants are academic investigators (faculty) from UK or ATRN partner institutions who propose projects in partnership with community stakeholders and/or investigators at other ATRN member institutions; proposals must demonstrate a sustainable partnership, relevance to Appalachian health priorities, and a clear plan to leverage pilot results toward future funding.
