Health is the largest block of funding in this catalog by a wide margin. It covers biomedical research, clinical specialties, disease-specific programs, dentistry, veterinary medicine, pharmacy and allied health.
The funders divide into three recognizable groups. Disease foundations fund one condition and review a small pool: the American Cancer Society, the Parkinson's Foundation, the Mark Foundation for Cancer Research, the Dermatology Foundation. Specialty societies fund their own members, including the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy Foundation, the Rheumatology Research Foundation and the SIR Foundation. Then there are the broad biomedical foundations that fund across conditions.
