APS Dependent Support Travel Award

American Physiological Society offers the APS Dependent Support Travel Award, a reimbursable allowance of up to $500 to help APS members offset eligible dependent-care expenses incurred while attending the American Physiology Summit or other APS conferences. Applicants must be APS members in good standing, submit an abstract to the Summit as first or senior author, and be the primary caregiver; priority is given to trainees and early‑career investigators at or below assistant professor (or equivalent), and only one award is allowed per family. Application requires a one‑page summary describing number of dependents, hours needed, chosen funding scenario, and estimated costs, and all awards are receipt‑based; eligible scenarios include caregiver travel to/from the meeting, dependent travel to an out‑of‑community caregiver, caregiver travel to the applicant’s home, or additional in‑home care hours. Funds cannot be used for ongoing care costs or to transport dependents to the meeting, awards cannot be deferred, and reimbursement is limited to specified economy travel, transfers, parking/mileage, separate on‑site caregiver housing, and hourly care costs where applicable.
