APSAD Mid Career Award

About this program

Australasian Professional Society on Alcohol and other Drugs (APSAD) offers the APSAD Mid Career Award to recognise mid‑career researchers in the alcohol, tobacco and other drugs field for demonstrated research excellence and leadership. Applicants should be more than 5 and up to 15 years post their last postgraduate degree, have at least five years’ experience working as a researcher or scientist in the field, and must not hold a full professorial appointment; career disruptions are excluded from years‑in‑service calculations and applicants with only an undergraduate qualification may be considered though a higher degree (e.g., PhD) is typically expected. Selection requires evidence of significant research impact, a high‑quality range of evidence‑based outputs, leadership and an independent research program with effective dissemination/implementation to scientific and broader audiences; candidates who fall outside the stated criteria may apply if they explain their circumstances.
