ARAV Research & Conservation Grant

About this program

The Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV) Conservation & Research Committee offers annual Research & Conservation Grants of up to $5,000 to support clinically oriented and conservation-focused research on reptiles and amphibians, advancing preventative medicine, husbandry, veterinary science, and species conservation. Applicants should be researchers proposing clinically oriented and/or conservation projects; proposals from ARAV members, clinically oriented studies, and conservation-based projects are given priority and are evaluated on clinical significance, conservation relevance, feasibility, and research methodology. Research should be completed within 12–18 months, recipients must present results at the ARAV annual conference or publish them in the Journal of Herpetological Medicine and Surgery, and proposals are due each year on October 1 with funding decisions announced by April 1.
