Archie Green Award

About this program

The American Folklore Society’s Archie Green Award honors local cultural leaders, groups, or organizations that have made significant contributions to the expressive life of their communities through activities such as art-making, mentoring, teaching, advocacy, or institution-building. The recipient is recognized at the Society’s annual meeting and receives an award certificate and travel support. Eligible recipients must be based in the community or region hosting that year’s meeting and need not be AFS members. Nominations and selection are managed by the annual meeting’s local committee; inquiries should be directed to sections@afsnet.org.
