ARSC Research Grants Program

About this program

The Association for Recorded Sound Collections (ARSC) offers research grants of up to $1,000 to support scholarship and publication concerning sound recordings, audio preservation, discography, bibliography, and the history of the recording industry. Funds may cover clerical, travel, and editorial expenses incurred after the award, but may not support equipment, recordings, recording creation, processing, prior work, or projects undertaken as part of a job. ARSC members and nonmembers are eligible, with encouragement for master’s- and doctoral-level researchers; applications must include a project summary, itemized budget, CV, and publication or presentation prospects. Applications are due January 31 annually, with recipients required to submit expense documentation and a brief project report.
