Arthur H. Huene Memorial Award

About this program

The Arthur H. Huene Memorial Award, funded by the St. Giles Foundation and the Huene Family through POSNA, provides up to $30,000 (one award per year) for 1–2 year projects recognizing excellence and promise in pediatric orthopaedics, with priority given to projects aligned with POSNA’s Clinical Research Agenda. Selection is a two-stage review: applicants must first receive a highly competitive score on the underlying POSNA grant mechanism, then top-scoring applicants undergo supplemental review of a CV and personal narrative addressing career goals, POSNA involvement, track record, mentorship, and plans for future funding; applicants must submit a CV, statement of career goals, and a one-page summary of past accomplishments. Eligible investigators must have at least 12 years of practice as of January 1 of the submission year, the PI must be an Active POSNA member in good standing, and current grant/award recipients (except microgrant holders) are generally ineligible until their existing awards and reports are complete, with a limited exception for projects with less than $5,000 remaining.
