ASA Annual Research Grant (Annual Grants and Prizes - pre-NSC Awards)

About this program

The Australian Society of Anaesthetists (ASA), through its SPARC committee, offers an annual research grant of up to AU$12,000 to support original research in its priority areas: Environment & Anaesthesia, Innovation & Anaesthesia, and Safety in Anaesthesia. Applicants must be financial ASA members for at least 12 months; trainee and early-career members (within five years of full membership) and team applications are encouraged, and Department Head support is required. Projects must have ethics approval or waiver and be registered with ANZCTR as appropriate—applications may be submitted while approvals are pending but funds will not be released until approvals are obtained. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and are adjudicated by an ASA-appointed panel (decisions typically within three months); recipients are expected to present at ASA-supported forums and pursue publication.
