ASBMB Ruth Kirschstein Award for Maximizing Access in Science

The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) offers the Ruth Kirschstein Award for Maximizing Access in Science to honor an outstanding scientist who has demonstrated a sustained commitment to dismantling local or systemic barriers and promoting participation and mentorship of scientists and students from historically marginalized or excluded groups; the award includes a plaque, $3,000, and travel to present a lecture at the ASBMB annual meeting. Both the nominator and nominee must be current ASBMB members, and nominees should have a documented record of encouraging participation in the scientific enterprise and/or effective mentorship of those participants. Current members of the ASBMB Maximizing Access Committee are ineligible for nomination and may not submit nominations or support letters. Nomination deadline is June 2.
