ASHS Outstanding Undergraduate Mentor Award

About this program

The American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS) offers the Outstanding Undergraduate Mentor Award to recognize excellence, innovation, and effectiveness in formal faculty mentoring and advising that advances undergraduate experiential learning in horticultural science. The award provides recognition at the annual ASHS Awards Ceremony and a certificate but no monetary stipend; nominations are due February 4. Nominees must be active ASHS members, actively working in research, extension, or teaching, and not previous recipients of this or an equivalent award; nominators must also be ASHS members. Applications require a curriculum vitae, a nomination letter of no more than 500 words, a biographical summary of no more than 400 words, and three to five support letters, including one from an undergraduate student and one from an external or stakeholder organization.
