ASHS Scholars Award

About this program

The American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS) offers two annual $1,500 Scholars Awards to recognize academic achievement and support career development in undergraduate horticultural science. Applicants must be full-time undergraduates pursuing horticulture degrees at four-year institutions, be ASHS members, and demonstrate academic excellence, horticultural experience, leadership, service, research involvement, and commitment to the profession. Candidates must be nominated by their department chair or head, with no more than one nominee per department, and must submit a 250–500-word essay, résumé or vitae, and three reference letters. Complete applications are due February 4, and recipients must remain enrolled through the ASHS Annual Conference when the award is presented.
