About this program

The Association for the History of Glass (AHG) offers small grants to support research and educational projects that advance the archaeological, experimental, historical, scientific and technical study of the history of glass, funding practical projects, travel, publication and conference attendance. For 2024/25 the Grants Fund totals £3,000 with individual awards up to £500; applications are considered twice yearly (31 March and 30 September) and it is advisable to apply at least eight weeks before a project start date. Applications are open to all but preference is given to UK-based researchers or projects concerning glass in the British Isles; applicants must apply by email using the AHG application form, include referee details, and ensure referees send supporting statements to grants@historyofglass.org.uk. Successful applicants must submit an illustrated report for Glass News and a detailed expenditure account with receipts within three months of completion and must acknowledge AHG in any publications, with noncompliance affecting future eligibility.
